NaNoWriMo is just around the corner.
I swore at the end of last NaNo that I would not do this again. Two years, and each time I decided I did not like it. I did not like the pace. I did not like the stress. I would not do it again. Two years was enough to determine that it wasn’t for me, right?
Right??
But now it’s nearly here. And I like the jump in the word count. I like watching the word count bar fill up.
This will be my first not-Poseidon related project.
Which reminds me that I still need to revise Poseidon: A Narrative and get that published.
Aaargh.
So, the first book of my (desperately needs a new name)Marriage trio, A Marriage of Land and Sea, is finished. I mean, I have the final final going out the door to subscribers edits to finish for November and December, but otherwise, done. I know how the second book will start, but I’m not starting that next.
The title for the next subscription story is The Midnight Circle! I can say that it involves a woman inheriting a yarn shop from an aunt she never knew about, and discovering a lot more about her family than she bargained for. There may be vampires. There will definitely be shapeshifters. And witches. And knitting.
Beyond that, I cannot say. If the stories are well received, there may be a book involved at some point . . .
Also, Igraine’s Flight is one step closer to having a solid release date.
Very mundane post, this.
So . . . anyone else doing NaNo?
NaNo! I’m slowly killing myself as well yes *cries* college work + NaNo is pain. But I’m doing it willingly 🙂
Oooooh! The knitting, and the shifters and vampires! Loves it already! 😀
I’m going to NaNo, but I’m writing songs. So I don’t think I’ll be able to have the word count jumps, but it’ll be good to get some things down!
I usually do, but this year depends on whether I get my current Big Work Project done on time AND still have the brain cells left when it’s done (quite the caveat!) I know what you mean about the word count bar, it’s such a satisfying feeling! And I like the little graph too! Best of luck to all participating : )
Not Sure if Want, Not Sure if Getting Out of It. 😛
I would love to read about witches and knitting and a yarn shop. That sounds delightful
I’m thinking about doing NaNoWriMo. I’ve got story ideas bouncing around in my head, but I remember how it burnt me out last year. So right now it’s up in the air.
I never have plots, but lots of cool premises. I’ll wait until I have something to say.
I just came off a year of writing and revising so …yeah, at the moment, I am avoiding Nano. I need a break! *lol*
Good luck with it, though.
I’m doing NaNo again this year, but I’m going to steer away from the stress of the word count. I spent more time stressed than writing! On the other hand, the other stuff (visiting the forums, writing soundtrack swap) are a lot of fun.
